Early Data from NASA's Kepler mission (2009 to 2018) was re-analyzed and a previously unknown, Earth-size exoplanet was found.

This planet, Kepler 1 6 4 9 c, orbits in the habitable zone of its star, like Earth orbits in the habitable zone of the Sun.

There is still much to learn about Kepler 1 6 4 9 c, including the presence of water and atmosphere, which are essential to life as we know it on Earth.
