September 8, 2022. Exoplanet T01-1452 b. Potential Water World. Illustration.

Efforts of several telescopes, including NASA's planet-finder TESS, have combined to identify the most likely candidate yet for an exoplanet "water world."

T01-1452 b is larger than Earth in size and mass.

Its density suggests it could be totally covered in deep ocean.

Other possibilities for this interesting exoplanet include being rocky with an atmosphere of hydrogen and helium, or no atmosphere at all.
