Hubble Builds Ultraviolet Library

NASA's Hubble mission has released the first data set from its largest observing program ever undertaken, called ULLYSES (U V Legacy Library of Young Stars as Essential Standards).

(SPEECH)
[COSMIC MUSIC]

(DESCRIPTION)
ULLYSES is building a comprehensive library of UV data on young stars, which forge elements and provide energy to planets.

Though stars are essential to how the universe works, much about their formation and processes remains mysterious.

The ULLYSES program aims to take advantage of Hubble's unique ultraviolet sensitivity, building a legacy database for future research.

Long after Hubble's mission is complete, astronomers will use this data to understand stars and the environments they impact.
