Comet NEOWISE Survives Close Pass by the Sun.
 
Comet NEOWISE did not break apart after its close encounter with the Sun, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope discovered.

HUbble detected the comet's coma, a halo of dust and gas around its intact core, as well as two tails.
 
Researchers are studying the Hubble data to learn how the comet was affected by the Sun's heat.
