Earth in the News: Extreme Weather

Extreme or unseasonably hot, cold, wet, dry, or windy weather can pose significant risks to agriculture, water supplies, transportation systems, and human health and safety.  Satellites are used to detect and track weather systems and map the effects of extreme weather on Earth’s surface.
